The Wheel of Time series (14 books though)
Blood Song (Anthony Ryan)
Assassin's Apprentice (Hobb)
The Way of Kings (Sanderson)
Dune (Herbert)
All are books about heroes with character improvement.

I read WOT, Assassin's Apprentice (all 6 books or however many are in the 2 separate series), and all of the Herbert Dune books. I am waiting for Sanderson to finish the entire Way of Kings series before I start the first one, though I am not a fan of his writing style.
However, I have never heard of Blood Song. Is that new? What series would you compare it to?
