There is only one SEC team in the top 8. That says a lot about how tough our conference has been the last 40 years.

While I agree with this, I think it also reveals that overall SEC dominance has been a relatively recent phenomenon. And since SEC country has always contained a wealth of top recruits, it also suggests that getting top coaches in the SEC has been significant.

Maybe.
If you justify that by looking into out of conference results and quality of opponents played.
