Maybe they are just upvoting a topical informative OP in the midst of the largely troll threads currently on the SECRant? An upvote does not = people are glad this happened. While I don't think that's the reason some are upvoting, I understand what you're saying.

As far as deflecting, I never really did. It's an embarrassment that this keeps happening. I hate that my university's name keeps falling into stories like this. It's terrible that this keeps happening to women on campus. What's more terrible are the idiot UT fans that will blame her. I don't wish this on any school. I hope Butch/ UT can straighten this out because it's a disturbing trend.
