Musa Smith.

Before Todd Gurley finally ended the streak, I thought that Smith was the last of the really good running backs at UGA. A lot of folks would say Moreno, but he was a scat back, and didn't run with the power that Smith did. I had a lot of respect for Musa.

Zac Stacy at Vandy was underrated, no doubt.

Maybe you only watched Moreno play twice in his carrer (the 2 games against SC), but I'm not sure this could be more incorrect.

Perhaps I did. Moreno didn't impress much in the games I saw him play - notably against USC.

Regardless, my point still stands. Until Gurley came around, Smith was the last back that UGA had that I thought was damn good. I'm genuinely trying to be complimentary of a Georgia player. This isn't easy.

2007: 14 for 104 (7.4/carry) and 14 yards receiving.

2008: 93 total yards, not a very good game at all on the face of it, but SC's defense was stout that day and only gave up 252 yards total. So KM had about 37% of our total yards (rushing and receiving) that day. Also had this run through traffic to give us the go ahead and GW score.

And that's nice, I appreciate the effort. It's just weird. It'd be like saying Eddie Lacy was the first good bama RB since shaun alexander.

Knowshon had 2700 yards rushing with 30 TDs and 650 yards recieving with 2 TDs in only 2 years of playing. That is really good, despite what you may believe.

Not saying that he wasn't. He was a first-round draft pick, FFS. It just felt like, to me, that there was a big gap in the way the UGA backs produced from Smith to Gurley. Moreno is a fine player, and he had a good career for Georgia, and they certainly love him there. My overall point is that I had, and have, a lot of respect for Musa Smith as an underrated player.

To put the thread back on track, I'm surprised no one has said Ace Sanders as an underrated player. He was a fine WR, but he was the most dominating return man in the country during his playing career.

He got lots of credit from the media and everywhere else. He was great for USC. I know I I was happy to see him go which is about as big a compliment as anyone can get from a rival fan.

I was on the sideline at Dawgnight when he attended. He was wowing people then and I think he really liked us. It's been a while so I can't recall the details of why he went elsewhere, but he was a really great player for SC.

I'm glad we have IMac at PR, he reminds me a lot of AS.

I like the little guy too. Sanders was ridiculous...if iMac can live up to that comparison I'll be a happy dude. I don't know that I've seen someone more dynamic with a ball than Sanders outside of Percy Harvin. iMac and Sony are both pretty dynamic too, I'm excited about those two.

I can't believe they were both on the same high school team 2 years ago. Those poor opponents probably didn't stand a chance.

Auburn had a receiver in the early 2000's that was pretty good. Can't recall his name but I think he wore #25 and his shoulder pads were like a peewee size. Didn't play NFL ball but he was basically Auburn's only weapon for a year or two. I want to say Ronnie Daniels but can't remember the guys name

Georgia had a guy that wore #82 that was really good. Fred something.

Fred Gibson. Fred's an interesting story. He has big play potential out the wazoo but wasn't really a Tavarres King/AJ/Terrence type that could really be your #1 and you could throw to 10 times a game. He would make some unbelievable catches that seemed to defy logic, then drop one over the middle right in his hands. He had a pretty frail frame and certainly didn't like getting hit, and also had a few injuries in his day.

Still though, he was a great WR for us. We don't win the 02 Bama, AU, and Clemson games without him.

Absolutely remember him. I want to say that he was drafted by the Steelers, maybe?

Another nominee: Jake Bequette (sp?) from Arky. He tried to kill Connor Shaw in '11. He was a tough SOB.
