It always amazes me that anytime politics comes up on this board the "you Christians" comments start to fly. I'm well aware of the fact that I'm not perfect and even though I think this bill has some problems, I think it's a step forward for Religious Freedom. I don't have the right to judge another but at the same time I SHOULD have the right not to associate with what I might consider sinful activity.

It really seems to center on what people consider wrong and not. For instance, I consider homosexuality a sin period. Just as Adultery, fornication, etc.

I would bet the same rights would not be given to child molesters, but homosexual sodomy is fine with "you non Christian" folks as long as it is adults doing the act.

Two adults are capable of giving consent. A child cannot give consent. Its pretty simple. Same goes for the "sex with ducks" Pat Robertson angle. Animals can't consent to sex with humans, so it isn't a fair comparison to gay sex between consenting adults.

"Christians" get unfairly all lumped together in some of these discussions. But you should remember, different Christians believe different things. There are gay-affirming Christian churches. There are Christians who don't believe in musical instruments. Some abstain from electricity. Others observe Judaic "kosher" requirements. Some go to church on Saturdays. Others believe Jesus came to the New World.

There are so many different "Christian" beliefs on the planet. I get a kick out of a staunch Baptist relative of mine talking about worldwide "Christianty" when a huge percentage of those "Christians" he considers to be hellbound. Catholics, Pentecostals, Lutherans, Orthodox "pagan Mary-worshippers" etc.

Given the huge differences in opinion on various matters even within the Christian faith, how do Christians in the U.S. suggest so-called "Christian ethics" be applied to government? Christians can't even agree on some of the most basic tenets of their faith.

Keep religion and govt separate.
