That's rather creative but would never happen. If something like that were to happen breaking into 4 pods might make sense initially but things would quickly deteriorate once everyone started fighting to keep traditional rivalry games like Bama/Tenn or Ugag/Aub. etc...

For me personally I miss playing Tennessee and Auburn every year and the occasional Bama game. We use to play UF some as well in the 70's. UT and Auburn were fun rivalry games. Bama and GT have a very bitter history but I'm pretty sure after many years had passed Dodd and Bryant buried the hatchet and Bryant actually wanted Tech back in the SEC in the late 70's prior to us joining the ACC. Of course the mutts and Vince the prince did everything in their power to block it and were successful.

I've never heard this story. What happened?

I know why Tech left the SEC, but I never knew they considered going back. I always thought they were adamant about not going back (Of course, time always heals wounds).
