Let me step back in for a sec.
Clemson has the lowest standards in the ACC, so do the conference a favor and don't include Clemson when defending academic integrity of the acc.
And FWIW most people who even know what Clemson is generally consider it on par with auburn.

Clemson doesn't have lowest standards and is a top 20 public school per US News.
Florida State, Miami, Lousivlle are below. Few student/parents can afford the private schools in ACC so worthless to compare Clemson to them. UNC is more selective than Clemson simply because it has more national name recognition and lot of rich kids up north like it. Academically I think it is hard to argue that uNC is harder or has better students than engineering schools like VA Tech, NC State and Clemson. UNC is basically a big liberal arts school.
Clemson has great rep in engineering/architecture. Auburn does ok too in that regard. UGA doesn't. LIke the other guy said, it is about the various schools when rankings are applicable.
