"My visit to Alabama was great," Wilson said. "It's one of the greatest visits I've ever took since I've been getting recruited by them. I just looked at the little key things to become a better player if I decide to go to Alabama."

"The highlight of the visit was when we went to Coach (Nick) Saban's house and ate breakfast and rode golf carts and went to the lake."

Wilson's picture of himself and Saban dabbing went viral. He and fellow five-star linebacker Ben Davis of Gordo ran into each other with their golf carts on the trip.

Davis blamed Wilson. Wilson got a chance to respond.

"It was his fault," he said, with a laugh.

His coach at Brother Martin, Mark Bonis, said that Alabama head coach Nick Saban plans to visit Smith on Thursday.

"Irv had a great trip to Alabama, and this is a true credit to Alabama's staff," Bonis said. "They do a great job of rolling the red carpet out and showing what a great program and great tradition that they have. I know Irv really had a great time. He enjoyed it. He had nothing but great things to say about Coach (Burton) Burns and Coach Saban and the treatment he had when he was up there."

Smith is the son of Irv Smith, a tight end out of Notre Dame who played five season with the New Orleans Saints in the mid-90s.

"From what I understand, he's a high priority for them," Bonis said. "That's my inclination, talking with Coach Burns."

Smith had been committed to Texas A&M since the summer, but still had an eye for Alabama.

"I've got nothing but great things to say about Alabama in how they handle recruiting," Bonis said. "With Irv being committed, they did the right thing and let him honor his commitment to A&M and as soon as he backed out of his commitment, they stepped up a little bit. I do know this - on Irv's part, he scheduled a couple of different visits (to Alabama) while he was committed to A&M."
