First off there are many teams in the FCS that have a lot of history and tradition. Yale, Harvard, Montana, the Dakota teams, I'll have all lot of tradition history and some okay local fan support.
I'm not suggesting they cancel football. I'm saying that none of the teams I listed belong in the FBS competing against teams like Alabama, LSU, UCLA, Washington, Ohio State, Or any of the power five schools.
None of the teams I listed barring maybe Colorado if they actually decided to spend some money on their football program, are ever going to compete for a national title or even compete for a playoff berth. They would be much better served at an FCS level where they were more competitive against like teams.
