Why go to all that trouble and throw away a perfectly good gun? They invaded your home. You live in the south where the castle doctrine rules.

Leave them where they fell. Call the cops and tell them they have a cleanup on aisle x. They will haul off the carcass for you and you get to keep the gun. All you have to do is clean up the room.
