I thought I read that y'all met with him the day after the bowl game. Was that not so that Miles could give him a counter offer?

Yeah Miles met with him, but I haven't seen a reputable source say that he was given another offer. Granted, it was pretty obvious he was gone after his postgame interview so I wasn't really hanging on bits of news either

Interesting. I know (per this board) that Alleva is under quite a bit of fire... before Chavis and since.

Is it possible that Alleva wanted Chavis gone and Les wanted him to stay? As the AD, Alleva would have control of the $$. Obviously LSU could have matched had they wanted.

From an outsiders perspective it looks like there is some friction between Alleva and Miles. Let said he was going to "pitch" Chavis one more time the night after the ND game. Can't believe Les would just pitch him without the financial package to back him up. Doesn't really make sense.
