Completely agree that quotas, red light cameras (that don't do a thing besides increase tickets - never seen any evidence that they save lives and I highly doubt that's ever been the intent of them), and the like are a big problem. And you're right, those definitely foster a distrust.

And that leads to more animated/violent confrontations.

Raise your hand if you think that the black communities distrust/animosity for cops can be seen as an extension of being HEAVILY policed by people who

A) do not look like them
B) are not from the community
C) make no attempt at getting to know the people of the neighborhood

and are enforcing unjust law?

I understand their frustrations.

And for the rest of society, well, it's coming to a community near you. As I mentioned, Lowndes County has amped up their deputies, and they are everywhere. People who usually line up to lick boots are now feeling the sting of the revenue generation, and are slowly changing their tune.

It's easy to love the cops and cheer them on blindly when the "criminals" aren't you or anyone you know...

But again, I simply wish the cops would stand with "the people" against unjust law. I'd buy them a fricking Coke and teach them all to sing.
