It would appear that every other athletic program at UGA is losing money except football. They are seeing 300% profit returns from football, put in 26m, get 77m back.

And just a note... Coaches that do more with less are not winning championships.
That underfunded team from the ghetto winning big because of their awesome coach, that shite is not reality!
Also good for you if you can do more with less, you will continue to get less as a reward.
Final note, GT spent more on recruiting annually until 2012, we just barely passed them since then.

Last but not least, to suggest that MR is still coaching because he can't leave the money, your just Brain dead.
He is worth more than 50% of all NFL coaches.

If Richt were operating at capacity more money would be in order. An employee should only get a raise when he becomes more valuable to their employer. Richt has said since day one that UGA was his last job. If there is no danger of an employee leaving because the employee has proven time and again that they won't why would you, as an employer, rock the boat when the employee is meeting all of your expectations and not insisting on fundamental changes. Apparently Richt is more than happy with the situation at UGA. Presumably he is a man who would have options if he chose to pursue them, yet he doesn't.

There is a reason for this type of satisfaction. I for one think it is the lack of pressure to do any better. Richts entire life has proven that he will stay the comfortable course given the opportunity. He isn't the type who easily steps out of his comfort zone and he somehow convinces others to follow suit (DJ and Mason come quickly to mind). He is the perfect fit for UGA. He runs what is apparently a clean program that makes enough money to keep the AD afloat without too much embarrassment and produces just enough to keep hope alive. As is evidenced by so many UGA fans pointing out the debacle at UT (rightfully so) he is the quintessential UGA head football coach....stay the course, don't gamble, hope for the best.

As for any controversy between he and the administration at UGA??? Probably does not exist at all. Nothing in Richts background would suggest that he would ever question those above him on the organizational chart. He has maintained that he intended to retire in Athens since day one and has never once backed down from that stand even when he would have had any opportunity in the nation if he let on that he was interested. His signal to the University that he would stay as long as they would have him is pretty indicative of his intention to stay the course no matter what. To change course would mean stepping outside of his comfort zone and rolling the dice, something he has proven his entire career to be loathe to do.
