=IF(test/condition, value if true, value if false)

So say you have a column A with a bunch of values, posts if you will. You want to say that posters with more than 10,000 posts have no life, those under have a life.

B1 would be =IF(A1>10000, "Has no life", "Has a life")

Interesting. Whenever I dig through estimate sheets at work that is always the function that I couldn't figure out

Our sheets show an IF function to produce a uniform material cost per pound of differing material types. Always stumped me, but that's why I'm not in estimating.
