You assume all conferences are created equal. Winning the Big12 that year was like winning the ACC this year. Just because you win your wack conference doesn't mean you are one of the 2 best teams in the country. The BCS was designed to put the two best teams in the title game. To say Bama wasn't one of the 2 best teams in 2011 is ridiculous.

First who gives a shite if it was a friday night? Secondly, no athletes died. The women's bball coach and his assistant died along with the pilot and his wife.
