24-3 was the final. I didn't see the game, but my guess is that depth and superior athletes got them in the 4th quarter.
That and the fact that the 2 OM touchdown drives in the 4th quarter started on the Memphis 23 and the Memphis 24. Add to that the Memphis offense didn't keep them off the field in the 2nd half:
8 plays punt 2:53
3 plays punt 1:03
3 plays punt 1:16
3 plays punt 1:07
3 plays fumble 0:59
3 plays punt 1:21
6 plays punt 1:28
Total time of possession was like 40 minutes to 20 minutes

Went to compare the Mizzou and Memphis defenses nationally to see where they finished. I figured Mizzou would be higher because in our OOC games, we play lesser teams like Indiana (I kid...but theoretically ALL of our OOC should be against lesser teams) whereas Memphis is going to play 1 or 2 teams that are better than them. Thus the numbers should be skewed in our favor overall. One might say, but Memphis doesn't play SEC teams and no, they don't but they play AAC teams while using AAC talent, so conference games are a wash.
Scoring Defense: #5 Memphis #26 Mizzou
Rushing Defense: #24 Memphis #30 Mizzou
Passing Defense: #39 Mizzou #49 Memphis
Total Defense: #22 Memphis #23 Mizzou
Obviously, it's not perfect but he's done fairly well there. Just going back and looking at some of the games, it seemed like they were susceptible to giving up a big game in the passing game. They were pretty consistent at holding people under or darn close to their season averages running the ball. But then they'll have a game where they gave up 350 in the air.
