Against common opponents. 2011 Bama defense was better. Mostly because of experience. Barron, Hightower, and Upshaw were grown arse men that had been wrecking shite since 2008. They under normal circumstances would have declared early with the rest of the 08ers like Ingram, Dareus, Julio etc. Barron and Hightower, both returned because of injuries and Upshaw to improve his stock. They were seasoned, talented players at 3 different levels.

lsu's best players were sophomores. Mathew, Reid, Mingo etc. Bama had the talent and experience because they were lucky to have some guys come back that normally would have been 3 and done.
