Good OOC like Va Tech who lost in OT to Wake 6-3?

Mississippi State played Kentucky and Vandy to go along with UAB (allowed 34 points), South Alabama, USM, and UT Martin. Their division mates, Arky, had to play UGA and Mizzou from the other side. Not much resume building for State, although they looked good early.

Which is a better OOC schedule?

Cincinnati (9-3), Navy (7-5), Virginia Tech (6-6), and Kent State (2-9)

OR

SMU (1-11), Northwestern State (FCS 6-6), and Buffalo (5-6)

Then again, what do you expect from the least-knowledgeable fanbase in any sport?

There's a reason that Baylor is 1/3 the education for 3x the cost.

It's not about who had wins over weak teams, its whether you have enough quality wins to make your case.

Miss. St. beat Auburn, LSU, Arkansas, and A&M.

They also had the opportunity to add Bama and Ole Miss, to that list thanks to their challenging conference schedule. They lost those games, and got left out of the playoff, but the opportunity was there.

Baylor's only two real resume builder games on the schedule were TCU and a maybe a 9-3 Kansas State. The rest of the Big 12 was mediocre at best, and even less than that at worst. Baylor could have scheduled a major OOC game or two to arse opportunities to win big games, but they didn't and it came back to bite them.
