That's the thing, there is literally no piece of legitimate information available to even suggest there is any kind of "deal" in existence. Nothing more than vague message board posts and tons of confirmation bias.

Yes, but we all know that sometimes that information is complete bull shite, and sometimes it is from people who know something and do post it. It goes both ways.
