No. I agree with you. I said it in a different thread how, in a way, this team has endeared themselves to me because they're not that talented or not that good but they grit and grind and find a way to win, mainly with defense, but nonetheless win.

They don't have that look at all. And one of the reasons why I think GP deserves SEC COTY this year too.

It's hard to qualify this, because when we play well and I mean REALLY well, we have a defense that looks VERY talented, and Hunt, Sasser, White, Murph and Hansbrough all seem talented enough to me. It's confounding that we don't have enough talent to just roll an Indy or put up a very good fight vs a UGA though.

We have an elite defense. Pinkel said it was his best ever on 920 yesterday.

I hope to find that stream archive, wanna hear that, and no, I'm NOT doubting you.

To me an ELITE defense, is a shutdown D that doesn't get scored on hardly at all and gives up very, VERY few first downs, part of the reason we don't do that is scheme related, Pinkel loves his 'play not to lose' - 'cushion D' that gives away yardage, but if we win we win, I guess it doesn't matter, even though those final score margins very well MAY matter in deciding who goes where at the end of the season.

The pursuit from the front 4 may allow you to get away with the less than smothering coverage but that isn't something you can figure will be the case each year, so short of bringing in a number of starcaliber D line recruits, we may well be looking at an anomaly. Even with the former studs like Aldon and SHeldon, keeping up the best D-line in football is no small task.

We need more leetness if we are gonna hang with the big boys.

And when's Lane Kiffin going to show himself the FUBAR he's always been?

Unfortunately I don't think he's really that bad of a coach, at least as far as running an offense, and regardless, his boss is smart enough to know they have to scheme an offensive plan for our edge pressure, we ain't sneakin up on anybody at this point.
