Mullen arrived here in 2009. Beat a good Ole Miss team with a piecemealed Croom setup.

2010 Went 9-4 with a Michigan Gator Bowl rout. Worst ever.

Mullen was fluffing his bonus / contract. He didn't want to coach there.

I can see him deliberately tanking an interview while hitting up his own administration for a raise. Not sure if that's the smartest course, though, since having another school sincerely considering hiring you is a better incentive than just applying for a job. But it's all speculation until someone who knows the facts decides to share them.
