This article by emerson is really painful. Wilson basically admitted they weren't up for playing and figured UF would be an easy game. Man...I don't see how anyone goes into the WLOCP with that attitude but we sure as hell know what the result is.

Reminds of Theus (I think it was) saying how surprised he was that Auburn's DEs were "trying really hard and playing hard" last year. And Jenkins saying how we figured Mizzou would be an easy pushover last year. Assuming stuff like that against teams that are having great seasons is pretty damning as well.

While I appreciate the candor of the interviewed players, their comments are damning that our coaching staff didn't have our players ready for battle in Jacksonville. They knew Florida had a good and experienced defense that would load the box to shut down our running game. They knew Florida was replacing Driskell with a running QB. They knew the weather was going to be windy and cold and that Florida would focus on the run rather than risk turnovers throwing the ball with a less experienced QB. Our defense has been relying on TO's and TO's are a fickle fate. You can't rely on them to replace hard nosed defense against the run.
