If Alabama wins out, they will have beaten two of the top four teams. Take a good look at where the Big 10 and the Pac 10 teams are. The committee just told you that those two conference championship games probably won't mean shite, compared playing MSU and Auburn. Try to pay attention, ok?

This assumes both Mississippi State and Auburn continue to win until playing Alabama and that is the only game they lose. That is hardly a given considering their remaining schedules for the rest of the season
