I think what we are dealing with here is a generational discord among fans. The older ones, like myself, sneaked them in to DWS and pretty much rang when we wanted and no one cared. I graduated in 93 from State and I never went to a game while I was in school that it wasn't hid under layers of clothes. The whole notion of walking past security with it in my bare hand is still odd to this day. Now that doesn't change the rules today and I do agree the university is under a microscope with the NCAA so we need to follow the rules. But part of me also goes back to the old "frick the SEC" mentality that says if we continue to win they will take them away anyway because Gus is going to have to have some excuse to tell Bobby Lowder when they don't win this Saturday regardless of weather the rules are followed or not.

When/if they take them this time -- there will be no "sneaking them in". Scott made that clear in his statement to fans.

I treasure not having to sneak them in. The "tradition" is a helluva lot cooler when there are 25x as many of them in the stadium and ringing responsibly according to the rules which actually only restrict ringing for what? 20 minutes? total of a 3 hour game. That's way better than a couple thousand that got snuck in ringing incessantly. The transition from high pitch to a low pitch roar when the center comes over the ball is awesome as shite to behold if our fans had enough sense and discipline in general to see it and make it happen.

Arkansas 2010 is the best atmosphere of the Mullen era -- and was, not inconsequently, the big game in which we've rang most responsibly.

No. It's an I.Q. thing. I am 30 and have gone to games since I was born. I understand where you are coming from, but at some point you need to open your phucking eyes and realize that you are hurting the program. My dad went to State. He got his bell from a cow and a bicycle handle like you probably did. He's not set in his ways like you are. I'm sure you are a "I hate change" guy, but change is what has brought us to where we are this Saturday. Open your phucking eyes. If you hate change so much, learn to ring the right way or you are gonna be watching from the junction or watching without your bell. I'm sure you will like that change even more.

eta: I ain't even mad. You just sound like a dumbass.
