I am 35 and I still remember the day I turned 18 thinking, ok if I do anything wrong now I am an adult and could go to prison. At that moment everyone of us is no longer a child. You all are using "kid" as an interchangeable word for being an idiot. It also is pretty much giving an excuse to why this guy did what he did. "He is just a dumb kid".
It should be drilled into every person turning 18 that you are now an adult and will be treated as such. if you baby 18 to 25 yr olds into thinking they are still kids, they will act that way and it is partly your fault. I am surprised I have to say this to an older generation, but maybe that is the problem in the first place.
