Sure, it's FitsNews, but still. Guy is on-point politically.

Granted, I think Spurrier is particularly chummy with Ward. But there's no two ways around it - if Muschamp were available, he's a definite DC upgrade.

Would you make this switch, all things being equal? Ward is a helluva recruiter, but Muschamp is better Xs and Os.

Thoughts?

Fine, forget the source. Let's just discuss the hypothetical. Would you replace Ward (and his recruiting) with Muschamp if you had the chance?

In a vacuum: yes, 100%. I've never been sold on Ward. And Muschamp is an ELITE defensive coordinator.

In reality, I think firing Ward is a difficult sell right now. Supporters will say he has little to work w/ and that although our defensive rankings have dropped somewhat, they haven't gone into a free fall. It's a very easy argument to make that Ward deserves another shot. You might burn a lot of bridges ousting Ward, at present.

I think the chance of SC firing Ward and hiring Muschamp as DC after this season is less than 1%.
