There is some truth here. This was an 7-8 win team going into the season with 9 wins being the ceiling.

Not sure things have changed much from those early predictions.

Im not saying I accept that. I dont. I think this program can move past "every 3 years go on a national run" but Im not really sure what to do about it. Pinkel is going to write his own exit from Mizzou, and honestly he should.

Program needs to move past the Pinkel era acceptance after he moves into retirement. Need to expect much more. More revenue, better facilities etc. This program just isnt the poor little small fish that gets a pat on the back swimming with the big boys in the Big 12.

I agree that the team just isn't that good.

Think about 'what could have been' -- DGB as the big play threat, Josey and Hansbrough as a 1-2 punch with Murph as the primary slot receiver.

That changes the entire geometry of this team.

Mizzou's filler players are average, they do well when they can have a few outliers that bust things open and all the plug ins buy into their role.

Recruiting is rearing its ugly head. When we aren't able to lean on a few really talented guys, the fact that the majority of our team is very average shows up much more.
