Do you know WHY our defense was so bad in 2007? We won the BCSCG the year before with a senior laden defense recruited by Zook...in 2007 we TWO starters return (one was Tony Joiner?)...that's it. We took our lumps, lost to AU at home, UGA (the celebration in the end zone after dominating them for a while)etc etc

To Charlie Strongs credit the next year in 2008 he transformed the defense into a great unit..with Spikes, Doe etc etc

Ok....maybe you want to let them pound the ball on us instead? Good offenses will burn you with blitzs. Our gameplan was to limit rushing the ball period...which I agree with....but Sims played like Dan Marino and hurt us. Boom has more knowledge about defenses under his little fingernail than most folks have in their whole brain. What happen was simple...they executed and even when VH3 was tightly covering Cooper he made catches....the best play was when Cooper was called for offensive interference and we had Bama at 3rd and 23 tied game....what do they do? Screen to Henry (#27) for about 25 yds down inside our 10 yd line. Henry executed...broke a lot of tackles...he is a hoss. There was no lack of effort from our guys.

I still can't believe Muschamp wasn't prepared for a screen on 3rd and 23. Makes me sick to think about it.

I would of liked to have kept them from throwing for over 300 yards in the first half. Bama didnt need to run the ball when we where giving them favorable matchups in the passing game all day.
