AJ was also sometimes rattled or come out shaky, something Sims has yet to demonstrate and Coker already has

Yeah, Sims looked poised when he called the wrong plays in the huddle, had to have Kiffin call timeout so he wouldn't get a delay of game, is a fifth year senior in the same system who has to have the offensive coordinator spoon feed him the plays, hands off when he should have passed, etc. But, like you said, he hasn't looked shaky at all

Sims has been decent-to-great for 6 quarters.

So we're pretending that A-day never happened? Cool.

Coker had been terrible-to-decent for 1 quarter.

I wouldn't say terrible. How would Sims or any other quarterback look if he was playing his first snaps after being away from football for ten months due to injury?

Open your damn eyes.

This isn't a debate.

Did Saban announce that the quarterback competition is officially over? I must have missed that.

What the frick is your problem? You are telling me AJ never had a communication problem during his first year as a starting qb after being with the program for 2+ years WITH THE SAME OC? Sims has a made a couple mistakes, but he always responds nicely.

That's a harsh view man. I'm just looking at his on field performance.

Uh, yes. The A-Day game? Come on man. Spring training is nothing like the fall. Lots of basic and conditioning.

You know, excuses for the performance don't really matter. Only the performance matters. I could just as easily say "How would you feel you were a converted runningback and all of a sudden had to start at QB against West Virginia in the Georgia Dome?

There is no official quarterback competition, aight? Saban is gonna play whichever particular personnel give us the best chance to succeed respective to that particular situation, aight?

I had quickly edited my prior post so it didn't sound so rude.

Why would he? Saban isn't an idiot. Look at how great Sims played yesterday and look at how much shite he's getting in this thread and how many excuses are made for Coker who was up-and-down with his play.

Saban does what he wants, but he knows how some of our fanbase is and how they think.... which is pretty sad.
