Huge fan? Absolutely. You know what he's a bigger fan of, though? Money. That's why they've been so open about their formula for ranking. No secret formula that ends up with Bama on top. The formula is the same for all kids and all recruits so no one can question the integrity of the formula.

He sold Rivals nearly 10 years ago to Yahoo! for $100M. Obviously, Shannon didn't get all of that as there were several other investors, but he did alright. HE waited out the non-compete clause of the sale and then created a new network that quickly proved to be the best in the industry. Rivals (Yahoo) hates it, but even they still rank Bama high yearly.
