My opinion is the cop, at worst, overreacted to the situation. I don't think it was cold blooded murder, but I'm not yet convinced it was justified. I do think he will be exonerated though. I think the cop's story is plausible, but I also think police departmebt's are notorious for protecting their own so I'm skeptical. I don't fully buy Johnson's story either.
A good, well-thought viewpoint.
Is Johnson the guy who just happened to be robbing the store with him? I think we have reason to distrust his story more than the police department's.

Yes, Johnson was with him in the store, but actually put the cigars Brown handed him back on the counter. Or at least that's what it appeared he did.
