LSU, A&M and Alabama were all 1-1 against the other two. The record against the eastern teams was the sole determination of who went to the SECCG. Guess who got to go? The team who didn't have to play an eastern team with a pulse.

I fully understand and comprehend that. Like I say, your argument is valid if we assume Bama would have lost to UF too, and that LSU would have had the highest BCS ranking of the three.
