An SEC that was down quite significantly. Only 3 teams won the conference in the 90s (Tennessee, Florida and Alabama) compared to five in the 00s (Florida, LSU, Georgia, Auburn and Alabama).
Just to give you an idea of how down the SEC was during this period, the Florida Gators won the SEC Championship five times in the 1990s yet they were consistently the second or third best team in the state of Florida.
