If you know he's guilty, why would you be happy that another member of your race got away with murder? I hope every person that commits murder is found guilty no matter what their race might be

The Black community in L.A. (and I'm not talking about everybody, but I am talking about a lot of people) had a case of schadenfreude over the verdict because White people felt as powerless and angry about the O.J. acquittal as the Black community had felt after the cops who beat Rodney King were acquitted. The LAPD was known for serious problems with racism and corruption, and Black people generally found it quite funny that White people were suddenly so interested in the role that race can play in perverting the justice system.
