You do realize industry gives out unrestricted grants, right? Meaning the industry can fund the research, but have no rights over the results.

Do you realize that the industries themselves do the testing or contract someone to do the testing, then submit the results to the FDA?
Do you realize that the FDA is a revolving door between biotech companies? Work at Monsanto for 20 years, then work for the FDA.
