My point is that for a kid growing up in Alabama if they work "hard" in High School, don't make idiotic life decisions and are willing to put their neck out a little the University of Alabama is perfectly affordable.

The only people using that "I couldn't afford it" line are people that screwed up somehow.

This is even more true in states with a lottery scholarship.
