He doesn't have much support among the ranks but unless those that left also took the weapons then it really isn't a issue. I don't think an uprising would even reach 10 million able bodied people.

You realize that the majority of the military aren't combat personnel, right? The majority are support personnel that hit up the range once a year for qualification.
