I was at the WVU / Miami game in Morgantown back in the 90's where the fans threw a full metal trashcan and hit Randy Shannon with it. Poor guy had to have surgery to fix the damage from that. What you didn't see was all of the fans throwing C and D cell batteries at the Miami team and fans. It looked like it was raining there was so many of them.

That is one of those situations where the refs should end the game and declare it a Miami victory by forfeit. That is the only way to stop a fan base that trashy.
