There are a million reasons to redshirt Roc
Look at Mark Richt's genius decision to RS Knowshon Moreno in 2006. UGA's leading rushers that year were Kregg Lumpkin (4.9 ypc) & Danny Ware (4.0 ypc). Both ran for less than 800 & 400 yards, respectively. Moreno has a HUGE RFR year (1300+ yards) & RSO year (1400+ yards) and bolts for the NFL (12th overall pick). UGA ended up 9-4, but lost 3 of those games by 7 points or less. You think Moreno could have made a difference in those 3 games?
Tre Mason, thankfully, didn't RS. While he only had 28 carries his FR year & 1 TD, he totaled over 600 yards returning kicks. He's lone TD on KO Returns occurred the first game of the year. HE was the difference between a W & L against Utah fricking State.
4 of the top 10 RBs in this years draft (according to CBS) stayed on campus for more than 3 years
Only 3 RBs RS'd. Carlos Hyde was considered a FB coming out of HS. Jeremy Hill had legal troubles. Charles Sims (74th ranked RB) & Seastrunk transferred during their college years.
Andre Williams (44th ranked RB out of HS - didn't RS) was a back-up for 2 years and injured his ankle his JR year. Do you think he would have stayed a 5th year (if he RS'd) after he exploded on the scene his SR year?

Exactly, which goes back to low's original point that Roc being a 5 star shouldn't RS'd but allowed to contribute in anyway he can his freshman year.
