I fully believe its mental.

1998 MSU won the West (like Alabama, LSU and Auburn usually wins the West, not like Ole Miss won the West in 2003) and got beat by a 3-win LSU team by the tune of 41-6 in Death Valley. That was the seventh straight loss.

1999-2000 results would have been reversed if instant replay was in effect. State had a 14-point lead in the 4th Quarter in Death Valley and lost in overtime.

Throw out the late Jackie years and the Croom error. In 2007 I went to the Central Mississippi Extravaganza and the Walrus had me fired up for the Thursday night opener against LSU at home. LSU brought the rape on us that night. Michael Henig is still throwing interceptions.

Mullen's first year, Chad Jones singlehandedly beat us with a punt return and climbing 10 feet into the air and knocking down a WIDE OPEN jump pass to the tight end that would have won it for MSU.

The 2010 season we lost 29-7 in Death Valley in a game that was closer than the score and 19-6 in Starkville in 2011 in a game that was a bigger blowout that the score.

2012 was another raping and 2013 was a 2-point game headed into the fourth quarter that ended up being a 33 point blowout.

I don't think we will ever beat LSU again, and if we do, it will not be in Death Valley.
