Why don't we have a 1998 SEC West Champions Sign hanging in our stadium?

If Ole Miss can hang one for being co-champions why can't we hang one for actually going to ATL. Or do we actually have one and am I completely oblivious to it?

Exactly. We actually accomplished something. Every SEC school acknowledges Divisonal Championships on their stadium except us...

Do y'all have a 1941 SEC champions banner? If not I would assume the school doesn't want to only have two banners hanging up.
As embarrassing as our 2003 banner is it doesn't look so bad because we have 6 SEC champions banners to go along with it. Not trying to flame or anything, just trying to see it through the school's eyes.

yeah. 1941 SEC champs and 1998 SEC W champs side by side would look pretty terrible. Might as well leave it to the casual fan's imagination.

I could understand this logic. It's actually a pretty good point. However, how many are you supposed to win before you hang them?
At one point or another you have to put it up there, and hope there will be more in the future.

That's why I ask if y'all already had a 1941 banner or not. If you did, I would add the 1998 banner. Who knows how many the school would want to be up there though.

I actually got drunk one time last year and someone suggested I email Bjork about our banner. I wrote like a 4 page essay on why it should be taken down. He politely told me to go frick myself.
Apparently a bunch of the boosters don't want it down so its not going anywhere.

Yeah I think we should just put both of them up there anyway and then pray we can add on to them one day. You have to start somewhere.

ETA: I honestly do think it's long before OM and State are competing for SEC West Division titles. I honestly don't see a game this coming season where I can put an L next to it except for Bama and maybe LSU (we have to win at some point

You must have not been a state fan your whole life, because if you were you would see how your ETA statement has about infinity flaws. My heart has been broken to many times by MSU Athletics in 24 years to get excited....

So you're saying the last 5 years have been the same situation as the previous 24 years? It's not that bold of a statement to say that times have changed and this isn't your fathers MSU.

Well saying you find it hard to put a L on our schedule except for Bama and MAYBE LSU is a bold statement. And I was right wasn't I?

if we had Bama and LSU at home this year I would feel better and possibly put them in that column, but I just don't see it on the road
