the same show that perpetuates the myth that those with guns will be largely ineffectual against the zombie invasion.

Yeah, because only about 80% of the zombie kills are via firearms. They'd kill more with firearms except 1) bullets are limited and 2) the noise of gunshots attracts more Walkers.

The best weapon under these conditions appears to be Michonne's Samurai sword.

Being ex-military and actually having received anti-Zombie tactics via FM 999-3, 4 and 5 (which were in beta stages since 2005 and only released as a parody sometime much more recent) I can safely assure any person that a slow-moving zombie infestation would not result in an apocalyptic scenario.

A regular squad consisting of 9 - 11 people all versed well enough would have no trouble handling a -massive- amount of zombies. (We actually had quite a bit of fun with the MILES, and while we only fought a few dozen they didn't even breach the outer perimeter and that was with barrel changes. )

Fast zombies maybe, but those zombies never. And using a blunt instrument would be a very bad choice in a viral outbreak. Even a sword would probably yield few results. A firearm would be the cleanest, safest and overall best weapon aside from time and a secure location.

I really hate this show and World War Z, both trying to be taken seriously and both failing at even rudimentary biology.
