I know they didn't play in the games, and certainly don't deserve real credit as NCs, but that stretch of 45-6 or whatever it was is enough to say that they were the other dominant Texas team.
IMO of course.
Anyways, back to the topic of Texas politics ruining any chance of Strong getting recruits.

I think you're misinterpreting the Texas politics angle.
Texas politics are not preventing Strong from getting recruits. Texas no longer has the advantage of politics keeping recruits away from A&M.
