As a big fan of Norm Chow I take issue with that opinion. The decline of USC began when Carroll allowed his jealousy of the attention Chow received to edge Norm out the door and replace him with lesser options.

By analogy LSU replaced Jimbo Fisher with lesser offensive coordinators who didn't develop QBs or players in general as well and the descent of the LSU offensive program hit hard by 2009
