The late 70s. He was so bad that the legislature actually sped up swearing in the new guy. Our democratic state house leaders came up with what was called "impeachment Tennessee-style" and swore in Lamar Alexander (republican) to get Ray the hell out the door.

Wasn't there a big political family from Memphis that was somewhat corrupt? Knox? Ford?
