But, even after winning two in a row, 3 of the last four, Bama fans felt like they were too good for the Sugar Bowl and still feel like they had the best team in the Country.

I would replace "But even" with "Because".

This is the sixth year of a pretty incredible run for Bama football. It could be that this type of run of sustained success would make any fanbase smug and entitled. I don't have any friends who went to USC, so I can't speak to their fanbase circa 2008, but I doubt they were a model of humility.

I will probably be one of the few who actually read your posts.

First, AJ isn't a world beater at QB. I can honestly say in my lifetime there has never been a world beater QB at the helm of the Alabama offense.

Nussmeier and McElwain were able to take average and above average QBs from the Shula era and early Saban recruiting era and develop them in defense awareness. That is why both offenses from those OCs have that 5 yard HB dump pass instead of using them as blockers on 1st and 2nd non running downs.

I honestly see AJ going into the draft and being a late pick like McElroy and being a backup.

Alabama does have two QBs right now with that same pocket passer style but I do not know if they will see any playing time.

Alabama's offenses under Saban have been like jigsaw puzzles. Remove one piece, add another.

Alabama's defense is always going to be nasty but I am wondering if Saban will ever change his base scheme again like he did in the aTm game.

Anyway, thanks for not actually trying to troll like 99% of the board us tonight. I attended Alabama through the shula years and I can say I hope I never see that era again.

What I saw tonight reminded me of the 99 orange bowl except alabama didn't make that comeback in the final minutes.
