What a travesty it will be when the Cards miss the playoffs at 11-5. If the panthers lose next week... San Fran, Carolina, and New Orleans will all be tied at 11-5, with the tiebreakers leaving the Arizona the odd team out. The Cards will have beaten 2 of those teams and all together 4 teams (depending on whether Indy wins this week) with 11-5 records or better (SF, Car, @Seattle, and Indy). That's tied with Indy for the most in the NFL. Incredible. To think that joke of a team over in Texas could make it over a team that will have won 8 of it's last 9 games... what a shame it will be.

Please fix the playoff format Goodell...

If this were a regularly occurring event, you would have a case that the system is broken and thus needs fixing. But it isn't and doesn't.

The Cardinals also hosted 2 playoff games as a 9-7 team their Super Bowl year, I don't sorry for them at all....some years the format works in your favor, some years it doesn't, no need to change it

There are a few flaws, but for the most part the NFL playoff system is (IMHO) the best in sports. The entire system is very good. They do an excellent job of giving everybody a very level playing field.

When it comes down to it, teams need to win their division. No one should "try" to get a WC spot. It doesn't matter if you're in a division with SF and Seattle.. tough luck. Win more games. It is very clear-cut what you need to do to make the playoffs (vs College football where you can be perfect and miss it?)

So, you're bitching because every game counts? Divisions would be pointless if it were any different.

Cardinals have had a tougher schedule than any other team that has already qualified for the playoffs or is still eligible to make the playoffs this season, based on SOS published today by Pro-Football Reference. com.

SF and Seattle sucked for a long time. It's cyclical.

Did I miss them already playing and beating SF?

10-6 is about where the Wild Card cutoff normally is. If they miss out, they're on the other side of the coin from being 9-7 in a shite division and getting to host the NFCCG.

I'm fine with the division winners and 2 wildcards making the playoffs but I don't like how division winners get an automatic home game in the first round. Should be seeded 1-6 on record only.

It is hard to argue they need to invite more at large or wild card teams. If you never leave out a potentially deserving team your system has no standards.
