That happened in several games in 2011. The difference was that the opponents' offenses didn't hold the ball very long in the first half. Therefore, our offensive got more opportunity to beat the shite out of their defense so that by the 4th qtr, their defenses were done. In the first game with Alabama the strategy worked, think about the OT when LSU's oline was starting to dominate.
Our HC was an OL. Think about his perspective on the game. He wants to run block. He wants to hit people in the mouth. He wants to lay people out so that towards the end of the game the opponent's defense has quit.

For me, that season was tainted by 1/9 even with all the successes LSU had. How in the hell do you beat a 2011 Alabama type team twice in one year? I knew the odds were against us going into the title game. Miserable
