LSU uses this color scheme for 1 home game a year I believe, otherwise LSU is always in white.

LSU's purple uniforms are awful.

It's the same as the numbers on the helmet, it's been that way forever and people who love the program now identify with the uniform. It would be as if you told Bama fans we're putting a script "A" on the helmet or an elephant. FWIW LSU's white uni's during the DiNardo years are a gray facemask away from near perfection. My favorite uniforms today are;
Bama
USCw
UGA
Auburn
