great rivalry but not on yankees/sox, lakers/celtics, real madrid/barcelona level

I really think that college rivalries are a lot more intense than pro rivalries. Go to a pro-game, and its almost nothing but the home team. On a good rivalry game in college, I think at least a third of the crowd should be from the opposing team. That's what makes college football so special really.

I love college football more than anything else, and I think because of people's undying love for their school, and the culture that college towns have on their city and the surround area and the state as a whole, you see extreme passion, but there are plenty of crazy asses that are just in to pro sports. As a graduate you live the rivalry in many facets that exist beyond the field, but you're insane if you don't think the energy at a Packers/Bears game or a Packers/Vikings game isn't intense as shite.
